Recognizing and Addressing Microaggressions

Day to day, we meet so many different types of people from various cultural, ethnic, and racial backgrounds. However, our own world view informs what is the “norm” for us. Biases are common; many of them are unconscious. These unconscious biases may manifest as microaggressions, which can hurt others — especially as they build up over time.

Join MASS AWIS at this interactive workshop to help you learn about about noticing and interrupting hurtful microaggressions, to make the invisible visible, to identify hidden prejudices - and how to introduce these to the STEM academic and industry workplace.
