Presented by MIT Executive and Professional Education
Invent the future. Start with yours.
MIT’s degree and non-degree executive programs are tailored to meet the needs of technical professionals and business leaders who seek to drive innovation, lead change, and solve complex business challenges.
Led by senior faculty, our executive programs offer breakthrough research-based insights and provide excellent networking opportunities with peers from around the world. These programs will enable you to take your career to the next level. We have an educational solution for every schedule and need. Programs range from two days up to 20 months part-time and some are even offered online.
Attend our open house and learn from Professor Nelson Repenning who will speak about systems thinking. Most efforts to improve organizational performance fail to produce significant change. Research suggests these failures could be avoided by realizing the interacting effects of such change efforts, and adapting individual and organizational mindsets and structures to enable meaningful and positive organizational change.
Get a sneak peek into the foundations of systems thinking:
- Structure Generates Behavior – context plays a significant role in determining how people behave.
- Mental Models Matter – it is not enough to change a system’s physical structure.
- Systems Thinking Does Not Come Naturally – our first instinct is to blame people instead of systems.
- System Dynamics model of Continuous Improvement – well-intentioned leaders often fall into a “capability trap” when pressured to deliver faster growth and higher earnings, inadvertently undermining essential capabilities needed for success.
Come learn, mingle with program alumni, and see how MIT can help you reach your educational goals.
