How to Find Your Next Position in Tough Economic Times

Through a series of exercises and discussion, attendees will move through the creation of a value proposition, learn how to communicate their career story and understand how to develop a marketing plan. Additionally, there will be an introduction on how to develop networks and a deeper look at the process of an informational interview. In these small (20 persons) interactive workshops, attendees will acquire networking skills and gain an understanding of how to approach the market to obtain their next position.
About the Speaker
Career Strategist was founded by industry veteran, Sarah Cardozo Duncan, to help people define their career path, better chart existing career paths, as well as to successfully navigate within their current companies. Sarah draws on over twenty years of career development experience in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) space. She is an accomplished, and highly regarded speaker and workshop leader, and conducts hands-on training and workshops for postdoctoral fellows, as well as companies, trade organizations, and associations. In 2014 Sarah was named as the Massachusetts Association for Women in Science (AWIS) Mentor of Excellence awardee. She has also held leadership positions in organizations including Women in the Enterprise of Science and Technology (WEST), South Shore Chamber of Commerce, Mass Alliance, and the New England Women in Science Executives Club (NEWISE) where she is a founding member and currently sits on the Board of Directors as well as serving as the chair of the Membership Committee.
